Established in January 2001, Savory Catering in Dallas, Texas has always had the goal of providing excellent, all-natural food made with the freshest ingredients and quality service. Since then, Savory Catering has grown to open the highly successful State and Allen Kitchen+Bar in Uptown as well as two locations of Dallas' favorite sports bar, the Nodding Donkey. All the while, Savory Catering has never lost sight of where it's passion started and we'd love for you to meet our chefs that steward the vision and taste of Savory Catering.
Jonathan Calabrese is owner and executive chef of Savory Catering in Dallas, with a unique background in education and the arts. Jonathan graduated from UNT in 1996 with a Philosophy degree before going to culinary school in 1998. He later graduated from the Art Institute of Dallas as valedictorian of his class and contributes much of his how-to knowledge of running a kitchen from working alongside Executive Chef Brian Luscher at the Grape Restaurant. Today, Jonathan spends most of his time running operations for Savory Catering in Dallas, supporting Executive Chef, Rhett Dukes, who continues to expand the company in exciting directions.
Rhett Dukes is Executive Chef for Savory Catering in Dallas, starting with State and Allen in Uptown as a sous chef. With determination that is only matched by his creativity, Chef Dukes has extensive culinary experience in restaurants from Houston to Chicago and back to Dallas. With a global food knowledge and local restaurant passion, Chef Dukes continues to be the driving force behind new menus for State and Allen and Savory Catering.
